Tips for using

 

 

》Clean the wound in accordance with normal procedured, dry the surrounding skin thoroughly;
》Select an appropriate sized dressing, larger than the wound to ensure contact with the skin;
》Remove the releasing liners and apply the adherent side to the wound. Do not stretch. The dressing should overlap the dry surrounding skin by at least 1-2cm for the smaller sizes and 5cm for the larger sizes;
》Remove the protector material from one side of the product and anchor the adhesive side to the skin;
》Smooth the product over the wound and remove the remaining protector material. If more than one piece of the dressing is required, overlap the dressing, making sure that the holes are not blocked;
》Apply a secondary absorbent dressing on top of the dressing and fixate.

Application

》Clean the wound area according to good wound care practice. Ensure the peri-wound skin is dry.
》Select a suitable size of Silicone Wound Contact Layer so that the dressing overlaps the wound margins by at least 1 cm. Large wounds may require more overlap. The product may be cut to size with the backing paper still on.
》Remove the release film and gently apply the wound contact layer directly on the wound surface; peel-off the dressing carrier and smooth down the dressings edges to ensure good adhesion.
》Apply an appropriate secondary absorbent dressing and a retention dressing if needed.

 

Dressing change and removal

 

Silicone Wound Contact Layer can remain in place for up to 14 days, dependent on the condition of the patient and clinical condition of the wound. The longest cumulative use should be less than 30 days.

Replace Kliniderm® Silicone Wound Contact Layer whenever good wound care practice dictates that the dressing should be changed.

Gently remove the dressing from the wound bed and skin (by supporting surrounding skin) and dispose according to local procedures and guidelines. If removal appears to be difficult, saturate the dressing with saline solution.

If required, irrigate the wound site according to good wound care practice.

If the condition of the wound deteriorates, discontinue use.

Store at room temperature, out of direct sunlight and keep dry.
